Happy Blogiversary to us!!

So, here I am, all done with my work for the day and finished reading some new posts from my fellow WordPress bloggers and I get this email….

And…who can resist the chance to do a little happy dance? We started this to reach others and to tell the raw side of various things that we have faced but were obviously afraid that we would keep ourselves in the past by focusing on these moments and yet we have found ourselves in an entirely new world! Even better, this world is full of awesome people who not only share their stories but also help us to share ours with more people. The advice that we have been given as well as the support from tenured bloggers has been nothing less than a thing of beauty.

I remember the first morning that we woke up with our first WordPress follower, BeautyBeyondBones, and thought it was absolutely incredible that such an amazing writer with an inspiring story could actually take the time to read our little words on the screen. For that initial boost of confidence and all the times you’ve hit that like button, we thank you. Facebook and Twitter continued to grow followers and we watched our views jump. Then there was a quiet time when we were on the road from Irma and it seemed that we had reached a stale moment in blogging. Then I noticed a comment from a random daily prompt that I completed passing time during the evacuation. This resulted in a pingback which the sweet author at toofulltowrite explained to me how to do and how this is a mutually beneficial practice. For this advice, I certainly thank you. Then, tonight, I receive a reblog notification and found a new acquaintance in The Militant Negro who, based on the site, spends a great deal of his time helping to increase exposure for other bloggers. Thank you for this.

Some of this may seem minimal to many of you more seasoned bloggers but at this point in our blogging journey, I am very pleased with how this has impacted our lives and look forward to widening our circle of friends in this blogosphere we call home!
