October as National Breast Cancer Awareness month, just about everyone knows that. Very few know anything else that October stands for. I didn’t. I did not know it was also bullying prevention month, pregnancy and infant loss awareness month, and I would have probably never known it was also Down syndrome awareness month, had it not been for my child being born with it.


People act like it is a disease you can catch, and it not. To be completely honest, I couldn’t see it when my son was born. All I saw was this precious bundle of joy that I had been given to raise and to love for the rest of my life. A best friend I would never has to worry about losing, someone that was going to always be with me.
